Alpine Refrigeration was engaged by Newlands Commercial Construction Pty Ltd to provide specialist installation works for mechanical air conditioning and ventilation services to the refurbishment of R Block at the University of Southern Queensland. Alpine was contracted to supply, deliver, install, test, commission and service the mechanical systems and associated works at the facility.

Very limited spaces were available for the installation of the mechanical

equipment on this project. Installation was undertaken successfully through the skills and expertise of the Alpine team, coupled with close liaising and effective communication with the builder.

The engineering design intent was to maintain controlled conditions throughout all areas of the building via chilled and heated water air conditioning systems. The design installed by Alpine consisted predominantly of Oceania chilled water equipment which distributed conditioned air to all rooms and open learning areas. Outside air was distributed throughout, via the air conditioning ducted systems. All systems are controlled by the USQ BMS system which was installed

by Schneider Electric.

Newtown Hotel Liquor Barn

Alpine Refrigeration was engaged by DMC Construction Group to provide specialist installation works for air conditioning and refrigeration requirements to the Newtown Hotel Liquor Barn, Toowoomba Qld.

The project called for Alpine’s technical expertise to supply, install, test and commission an 11.2m x 6.3m commercial cold room including an independent temperature controlled wine wing and glass door inserts for retail sale of packaged beer and mixed spirits.

The Newtown Hotel Liquor Barn required close liaising with DMC Construction Group to facilitate the installation of a the large walk-in retail cold room with a 20 glass door insert, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The engineering design intent was to maintain the correct product temperature within the walk-in cold room under all climatic variables and controlled, comfort conditions throughout all the retail area.

The design installed by the Alpine team encompassed a custom onsite- constructed cold room with Acpac packaged refrigeration equipment,

controlled by Carel Electronic temperature controls.

Mitsubishi Electric ceiling cassette air conditioning systems were installed throughout the site, with Mitsubishi Electric wall mounted controllers giving each system independent control. All equipment was designed and installed to meet the key criteria of energy efficiency and lengthy equipment life cycle.

Alpine Refrigeration was engaged by Northbuild Construction to provide specialist installation works for mechanical air conditioning and ventilation services to the new Police Station in Highfields, Qld. The project called for Alpine’s technical expertise to supply, install, test, commission and maintain all mechanical services systems as documented.

The Highfields Police Station required close liaising with the Builder to enable installation of the required mechanical equipment in very limited spaces.

The engineering design intent was to maintain controlled, comfo rt conditions throughout all areas of the building with special requirements for detainees such as security grilles, air purification and motorised temperature control where required.
The design installed by the Alpine Team was predominantly Mitsubishi Electric standalone air conditioning systems, which distributed conditioned air to all rooms and offices within the Police Station.
Outside air was supplied by an energy recovery ventilator which distributed pre-conditioned outside air via the ducted air conditioning systems. All systems are controlled by wall mounted controllers giving each system independent control.
Several exhaust systems were installed throughout the Police Station to service all amenities and detainee rooms as per Australian Standards.

Glennie Learn to Swim Pool

The project called for Alpine’s technical expertise to supply, deliver, install, test, commission and service the mechanical systems.

The new pool required specialised energy recovery ventilation mechanical equipment that maintains controlled conditions throughout the new building.
The design installed by the Alpine Team was an Armcor ERV Package unit which distributed conditioned air to the pool area.
The system was controlled by Innotech Controllers with a individual wall controller providing the client with individual control over unit along with scheduling for after hours economy modes.

Alpine Refrigeration was engaged by the owner of the property to provide specialist mechanical air conditioning and ventilation to the project.

The project called for a complete demolition of the original internal fit out.
New services and equipment installed included a fully functional state of the art kitchen, individually controlled multi head air conditioning systems and ventilation systems to the refurbished accommodation rooms.
Several new cool rooms and freezer rooms were installed to the kitchen and bar areas.
Energy efficient commercial air conditioning systems to all ground and first floor functions are monitored and controlled by centralised control from the reception area.
The accommodation tower is serviced by a Daikin Heat Recovery three pipe system connected to individually controlled mini ducted fan coil units.
The first and ground floors incorporate a combination of Daikin multi head systems, Mitsubishi Electric Ducted systems and Temperzone Roof Mounted Package systems to the Gaming and Private Conference rooms.

The project called for Alpine’s technical expertise to supply, deliver, install, test, commission and service the mechanical systems and associated works at the facility.
The facility required critical planning due to both the design and quantity of mechanical equipment that maintained control conditions throughout all areas of the building.
The design installed by the Alpine Team was predominantly Mitsubishi City Multi systems which distributed conditioned air to all rooms and offices. A packaged air conditioner was used to conditioned air to the main auditorium.
All systems are controlled by Mitsubishi Central Controllers and Sub-Controllers providing the client with individual control over all individual air conditioning systems.
Kitchen exhaust hoods including mechanical extraction equipment were also installed on the facility.

Alpine Refrigeration was engaged by Northbuild Construction Toowoomba to provide specialist chilled water systems, mechanical air conditioning and ventilation services to a facility of a very specific nature. The project called for Alpine’s flexible approach to heritage listed building refurbishments of a complex and critical nature. By working closely with Northbuild, the outcome was an energy efficient, state of the art air conditioning system that complimented the architectural features of such a historical building.

The building structure and cavities posed significant challenges for the Alpine ductwork team along with enabling chilled water piping system, but intense internal design and installation skills provided the results as needed.

Job Type:

The mechanical equipment was designed and installed to provide both specific comfort, acoustic and environmental conditions. The design installed by Alpine called for a Daikin Chiller and chilled water system with multiple large indoor fan coil units with zone control and incorporated high efficiency filtration for indoor air quality control. Special low velocity Halton grilles were installed in the main auditorium areas to allow for sufficient volumes of conditioned air infiltrate the areas while maintaining comfort conditions.

The design was predominantly a chilled water system which conditioned the main hall areas while Mitsubishi stand-alone units conditioned the kitchen, office and comms room. All systems are controlled by a BMS system installed by others.

The project called for Alpine’s technical expertise to supply, deliver, install, test, commission and service the mechanical systems and associated works at the facility which included complete redundancy of all systems.
The facility required a multi-faceted design to provide critical environmental control conditions throughout the main areas of the building and control rooms.
The design installed by the Alpine Team was predominantly chilled water systems which conditioned the main data halls and UPS rooms. Mitsubishi City Multi systems distributed conditioned air to the battery rooms and offices.
Air conditions were maintained by humidifiers, dehumidifiers and positive and negative ventilation systems.
All systems are controlled by a BMS system installed by others.

Alpine Refrigeration was engaged directly by St Andrew's Hospital engineering department to provide a specialised mechanical air conditioning and ventilation design and construct project to their existing theatres 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and surrounding zones.

The outcome was an energy efficient, fully compliant theatre upgrade to the most stringent medical and building codes of practice and compliance.
The project called for the staged removal of existing plant, equipment, internal structures and fittings to provide an empty shell and then the subsequent installation of all new services to create state of the art, fully compliant medical operating theatres and support infrastructure.
Mechanical equipment included a Gree modular chiller designed and installed to provide both specific comfort, acoustic and environmental conditions.
A specific requirement of the system was to provide further expansion capability as the need arose.
The design incorporated multiple Air Change roof mounted fan coil units, electric reheat zone control and a sophisticated, Alpine designed controls system providing ultimate internal conditions with user friendly interface.
The critical time frames for all trades involved in this project made co-ordination and team work imperative.
The result was delivery of a high standard project, which met the client's expectations and time frame requirements.
