Project Summary

Northbuild Construction QLD Pty Ltd commenced the project in November 2023, encountering numerous delays due to rain. Alpine Refrigeration's technical expertise and industry knowledge enabled us to adapt swiftly, ensuring the installation and commissioning of 11 Mitsubishi Electric 5.0kW split systems across various locations in the building, all in accordance with Northbuild's revised construction timetable.

Our work required precise coordination around existing services such as hanging systems, electrical trays, and fire control systems. This included installing refrigerant piping, electrical controls, drains, fire collars, fire dampening vents, and a 16.5-meter air supply duct with a 2.2 kW inline fan diffused through five outlets.

Alpine closely monitored Northbuild's construction schedule, creatively planning resources and material supplies throughout the project. The design of ductwork and piping often required on-the-spot modifications, skillfully handled by our technicians, supervisors, and managers.

The Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning systems and fresh air systems are centrally controlled, monitoring temperature and balancing airflow to maintain optimal atmospheric conditions in the Switchgear, Battery, and Control rooms of the substation. These systems effectively manage high electrical heat dissipation and varying ambient outside temperatures.

This project was completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with Ergon Energy's stringent technical specifications and safety requirements.
