Project Summary
The facility at 677-683 Ruthven Street, part of the Bernoth Centre complex, had remained vacant until Queensland X-Ray selected it for their Toowoomba South operations.
The building was originally equipped with Samsung VRF Heat-Recovery air conditioning systems during its initial construction. Alpine Refrigeration collaborated with Newlands and Diametric Engineers to redesign the existing systems to meet Queensland X-Ray’s stringent comfort requirements.
The scope of work included decommissioning the existing Samsung VRF equipment and removing all redundant mechanical services components. Following the redesign, Alpine Refrigeration supplied, installed, and commissioned all aspects of the new mechanical services design, including fire and seismic certification.
Given the expedited timeline of the project, Alpine's installation was executed with exemplary precision despite the presence of numerous trades on site. Working within multiple control areas and around critical shielding (MRI and PET CT equipment) and other services in an already constructed building, Alpine successfully installed ducting, refrigerant piping, drains, and control systems.
With extensive experience and a QBCC Unlimited Mechanical Services Design licence, Alpine Refrigeration provided engineering solutions throughout the construction process, ensuring a successful outcome for Queensland X-Ray and Newlands Commercial Construction. The project was completed to a high standard, reflecting the expertise and commitment of all parties involved
