Project Summary

Garvie Builders engaged Alpine Refrigeration to install HVAC systems in a new standalone Repco building in Roma. The scope of work included the installation of two Package Units and two Outdoor Units with indoor cassettes, along with exposed ductwork, grilles, and a dedicated air supply and exhaust system for the Oil Storeroom.

Temperzone Package Units, required manufacturing and shipment from overseas, arriving in Australia, February 2024.

Alpine's technicians and tradespeople meticulously planned and executed the installation of two Temperzone Package Units, rated at 85kW and 45kW, which were craned onto the building's roof. Additionally, two smaller outdoor units, rated at 5kW and 10kW, with indoor cassettes, were installed.

Repco mandates a consistent appearance for all new buildings, and Alpine adhered to this requirement by constructing and installing two exposed ductwork systems. These systems, along with engineered diffusers and grilles, ensure efficient air distribution throughout the 992m² retail area.

Furthermore, the 129m² Oil Storeroom was equipped with a standalone Fumetech fresh air supply and exhaust system, designed to effectively suppress oil fumes generated within the space.

Alpine's technicians installed a Viking Control System SMT-920 with an Economy Cycle, equipped with a seven-day time lock and pin password protection, to manage the Package Units serving the retail area. Additionally, two offices were fitted with individual controllers to allow for customized climate control.

To ensure safety in the Oil Storeroom, an automatic warning strobe light was installed, interlinked with the air supply and exhaust fans' Variable Speed Drive (VSD) system, preventing any potential issues with air quality.

The project was completed successfully, meeting the expectations of Garvie Builders and adhering to the standards set by Repco's Head Office.
